Behind the Songs
Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Nancy Rose crafts a seamless meld of indie pop and folk. Her work has been recognized as a featured artist in BMI’s 2025 Fall Indie Spotlight issue. She is also the front-woman of FRENCHGRL, a pop-electro band garnering over 30M streams in less than a year. Click here for more about FRENCHGRL.
Born and raised on the Upper East Side, Nancy grew up in a household filled with music, influenced by her father's audiophile listening habits. She has been writing songs since she was 11 years old. “I began writing songs to work through deeper thoughts and I never stopped writing. I learned to play multiple instruments to further my creativity and expand the music I could make on my own.” Nancy continues a true passion for storytelling through music, collaborating with artists across many genres.
Now Brooklyn-based, her singer-songwriter solo project blends indie pop and folk. She has released several singles, including "Sister" in 2023, "Tuesday Girl" in 2024, and her latest track, "Sink Slow," in 2025.
Nancy has been active in New York City's vibrant music scene, performing at renowned venues such as Mercury Lounge, Baby’s All Right, Arlene’s Grocery, The Bitter End, and The Delancey.
